Wokingham Half 2011

What with concentrating more on cycling and having done next to no running speed work this year I wasn’t expecting a PB at Wokingham. The forecast of strong winds and rain didn’t sound ideal either.

In the event though I deliberately made up some time during the first few miles when the wind was at my back then continued going strong through most of the second half hardly slowing at all for the (not so bad) headwind. I finished in 1:44:49 chip time, oddly this was 20 seconds more generous than my Garmin time, reducing my PB by over 2 minutes. Must be the cross training effect from cycling I guess!
