Thame CPM 10k

Despite the Thame 10k starting earlyish at 9:30 it was much too hot for me and I got the impression everyone else was melting as well, it should be a PB course but not in that sort of heat, it must have been close on 30 deg C. Very little shade and while I appreciated the lady with the hand held flower sprayer thing a good hosing down would have been welcome.  At least there were 2 well stocked water stations for which I was grateful.

I was pleased to manage 48:19 213/825 despite going off with too fast a group and having to slide backwards about 50 places right at the start. Ade Gibbon used his start at the back tactic to come in 46:47 171/825, 19th in his category.  I think the bit I enjoyed most was cycling home afterwards, a chance to make my own breeze as nature wasn’t doing it for me.  Had to lie down in the shade for a couple of hours when I got back.

Five bars of chocolate in the goodie bag, all of which I handed over to Jane but they were more than a little squashy!
